ACTION PLANNING

As you reach the end of the ‘Should I Stay or Should I Go?’ course, it is essential to develop a plan of action to ensure you maintain momentum. It is important that your vision, all of the learnings about yourself and your relationship, and any intentions gathered along the way are turned into clear goals and actionable steps.

In order to do this, write down all of your goals. These might be formulated from the vision for the future you created at the start of the course or changes that you want to make following learnings about yourself during the discovery section. This could be a long list, but it’s important not to overwhelm yourself with change, so pick the top three goals that you want to focus on initially.

Once you have prioritised your top three goals, use the worksheet to help you turn them into an action plan. The first step is to make sure your goal is a S.M.A.R.T. goal.

S.M.A.R.T. stands for specific (who, what, why?), measurable (how much, often, many?), achievable (is it possible?), relevant (is it relevant to your vision?), and time-based (when?). It is a method for setting goals that ensures they are clear and achievable, increasing your likelihood of success.

The next step is to break your goal down into smaller steps. By focusing on the small, simple tasks required to reach a goal, it helps avoid becoming overwhelmed by the overall journey and also allows you to see continual progress as you complete each task and move towards the end point.

By regularly reviewing your progress, you can ensure that you maintain momentum and recognise what you have achieved and how far you have come. Once you have completed the initial smaller tasks, you can update the plan with the next set of tasks until you reach your end goal.

So, this concludes the course. Best of luck with the next steps on your journey, whether you decide to stay in your current relationship or embark on a new chapter. Feel empowered to move forward with confidence, equipped with the tools and insights to make an informed decision that’s right for you.
